Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have withdrawn ₹44,166 crore from Indian equities in October so far, reversing their earlier inflow trend. This follows a significant sell-off in September, where they pulled out ₹35,861 crore. The cumulative FPI outflow for 2026 has now surpassed ₹3 lakh crore, exceeding the entire previous year's outflow. Experts cite high crude oil prices, a strong US dollar, rising US bond yields, and increased capital flow to AI-driven North Asian markets as key reasons for this sentiment shift.
