The body of a 55-year-old man was recovered from a rain-fed pond near Garhburhni in Latehar district on Thursday. A joint search by police and local residents led to the discovery. Officials stated the death likely occurred around three days prior, with the body found in a highly decomposed state. External injuries on one leg suggest the man may have slipped and fallen into the pond. Netarhat police recovered the body and initiated inquest proceedings, with it being sent for a post-mortem examination.
