PM Modi Cabinet Approves NSAP Continuation For 5 Years With ₹53,428 Crore Budget

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the continuation of the NSAP for five years, from FY 2026-27 to 2030-31. A budget of ₹53,428 crore has been allocated, which will benefit approximately 3.20 crore beneficiaries across all 36 states and union territories. The scheme's name will be changed to 'Pradhan Mantri Samajik Sahayata Yojana', with revised eligibility and assistance amounts for disability pensions. Existing schemes for the elderly and widows will continue in their current form.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने NSAP को 5 साल, यानी वित्त वर्ष 2026-27 से 2030-31 तक जारी रखने की मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके लिए ₹53,428 करोड़ का बजट तय किया गया है, जिससे सभी 36 राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के लगभग 3.20 करोड़ लाभार्थियों को फायदा होगा। इस योजना का नाम बदलकर 'प्रधानमंत्री सामाजिक सहायता योजना' कर दिया जाएगा, जिसमें दिव्यांग पेंशन के लिए पात्रता और सहायता राशि में बदलाव किए जाएंगे। बुजुर्गों और विधवाओं के लिए मौजूदा योजनाएं पहले की तरह ही जारी रहेंगी।
