Tamil Nadu's Floriculture Sector Poised For Export Growth
Times of India · business
Tamil Nadu, a leader in Indian floriculture, is set to expand its flower exports and develop high-value products. The state ranks second in flower production and third in cultivation area, having doubled its floriculture area to 48,000 hectares by 2025-26. Major crops include jasmine, rose, and chrysanthemum, with the state leading in jasmine production. Experts propose a dedicated Tamil Nadu Flower Export Mission to coordinate development, focusing on processing units for essential oils and fragrance extracts, and promoting export-oriented crops.
