Manchester City secured a 3-0 victory over 10-man Liverpool in their first match following a verdict on over 100 financial rule breaches. Second-half goals from Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, and Rayan Cherki extended City's winning streak. Liverpool's Ryan Gravenberch was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. This win re-establishes City's lead at the top of the table, though their title challenge remains uncertain pending an appeal against the charges. The club faces potential sanctions, including points deductions or expulsion, for alleged "sham" deals inflating revenues by over £900 million.
