Odisha Women's Panel Seeks Report from Bhubaneswar DCP on Rape Case

The State Commission for Women (SCW) has requested an inquiry report within 15 days from the Bhubaneswar DCP regarding the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman. The survivor reported being sexually assaulted at gunpoint by an armed stranger who entered her home. SCW member Urmila Mohapatra met the survivor and assured justice, also reviewing the police investigation. Opposition parties have raised concerns about women's safety and criticised the police's security measures.

राज्य महिला आयोग (SCW) ने भुवनेश्वर डीसीपी से 26 वर्षीय महिला से कथित बलात्कार के संबंध में 15 दिनों के भीतर जांच रिपोर्ट मांगी है। पीड़िता ने बताया कि बंदूक की नोक पर एक सशस्त्र अजनबी ने उसके घर में घुसकर उसके साथ यौन उत्पीड़न किया। SCW सदस्य उर्मिला मोहपात्रा ने पीड़िता से मुलाकात की और न्याय का आश्वासन दिया, साथ ही पुलिस जांच की भी समीक्षा की। विपक्षी दलों ने महिलाओं की सुरक्षा पर चिंता जताई है और पुलिस के सुरक्षा उपायों की आलोचना की है।
