Delhi HC Orders DDA to Process Property Conversion Applications Within Two Months

The Delhi High Court has ordered the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to process all pending property conversion applications from leasehold to freehold within two months. The DDA has already collected ₹155.06 crore from residents for these conversions. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of progress and the non-functioning of the DDA's IDLI portal since January 2. It emphasized the significant difficulties faced by property owners awaiting decisions, noting 1,373 applications filed between 2020 and 2026 remain pending. Future applications will require a new policy formulation.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने दिल्ली डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (DDA) को आदेश दिया है कि वे लीजहोल्ड से फ्रीहोल्ड में प्रॉपर्टी कन्वर्जन के सभी लंबित आवेदनों को दो महीने के अंदर प्रोसेस करें। DDA ने इन कन्वर्जन के लिए पहले ही निवासियों से ₹155.06 करोड़ वसूले हैं। कोर्ट ने प्रगति की कमी और 2 जनवरी से DDA के IDLI पोर्टल के काम न करने पर असंतोष जताया। कोर्ट ने कहा कि 2020 से 2026 के बीच फाइल किए गए 1,373 आवेदन लंबित हैं, जिससे प्रॉपर्टी मालिकों को काफी परेशानी हो रही है। भविष्य के आवेदनों के लिए नई पॉलिसी बनानी होगी।
