Tourists Threaten Malampuzha Water Source

A community organisation, PROUD, has warned that increasing tourist activity in the Malampuzha dam catchment area is threatening the major drinking water source for Palakkad municipality and nearby panchayats. PROUD has complained about unregulated entry, vehicles in restricted zones, and waste dumping, including plastic and broken bottles. They are urging authorities for stricter surveillance and coordinated inspections to prevent further damage and potential water crises.

नाम की एक संस्था ने चेतावनी दी है कि मलम्पूझा बांध के आसपास पर्यटकों की बढ़ती भीड़ से पालक्काड शहर और आसपास के इलाकों के पीने के पानी का मुख्य स्रोत खतरे में है। संस्था ने अनियंत्रित प्रवेश, प्रतिबंधित इलाकों में गाड़ियों की आवाजाही और प्लास्टिक व टूटी बोतलों के कचरे को लेकर शिकायत की है। वे अधिकारियों से कड़ी निगरानी और संयुक्त निरीक्षण की मांग कर रहे हैं ताकि आगे नुकसान और पानी की किल्लत को रोका जा सके।
