Court Scraps Order Refusing Probe in Electoral Roll

A Delhi court has set aside a magistrate's order that refused to investigate Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's alleged inclusion in electoral rolls three years before she acquired Indian citizenship. The Special Judge at Delhi's Dwarka court criticized the lower court's "non-application of mind" and sent the matter back for a fresh hearing. An advocate had filed a plea seeking action, claiming Gandhi's name appeared on voter rolls in 1980, before her citizenship in 1983.
