Centre for Liberty Urges TTD to Reconsider Ban on Bike Taxis on Ghat Roads

The Centre for Liberty (CFL) has appealed to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to reconsider its ban on app-based bike taxis on the ghat roads leading to Tirumala. TTD had barred these services following a fatal accident, exempting private two-wheelers. CFL argues the ban could increase pilgrims' financial burden and questions the distinction between private and commercial bikes. They suggest stricter safety regulations, GPS tracking, and holding app companies responsible for accidents instead of a blanket prohibition. TTD authorities stated the issue is under review.

सेंटर फॉर लिबर्टी (CFL) ने तिरुमाला तिरुपति देवस्थानम (TTD) से तिरुमाला जाने वाली घाट सड़कों पर ऐप-आधारित बाइक टैक्सी पर लगे प्रतिबंध पर पुनर्विचार करने की अपील की है। TTD ने एक घातक दुर्घटना के बाद इन सेवाओं पर रोक लगा दी थी, लेकिन निजी दोपहिया वाहनों को छूट दी थी। CFL का तर्क है कि प्रतिबंध से तीर्थयात्रियों पर वित्तीय बोझ बढ़ सकता है और यह निजी और वाणिज्यिक बाइक के बीच अंतर पर सवाल उठाता है। वे पूर्ण प्रतिबंध के बजाय सख्त सुरक्षा नियमों, जीपीएस ट्रैकिंग और दुर्घटनाओं के लिए ऐप कंपनियों को जिम्मेदार ठहराने का सुझाव देते हैं। TTD अधिकारियों ने कहा कि मामले की समीक्षा की जा रही है।
