FASTag Parking Facility at Delhi Airport's T3 Suspended Over Entry Restrictions

The FASTag-based parking payment system at Delhi Airport's Terminal-3 arrival was temporarily suspended on Wednesday. It was discovered that the parking operator was using the smart tag to regulate vehicle entry, not just for collecting fees. This practice was flagged by former Niti Aayog vice-chairperson Rajiv Kumar, who called it arbitrary and inconvenient for passengers. IHMCL, under NHAI, has directed the concerned bank to stop any use of FASTag beyond parking fee collection, warning of action for non-compliance.

दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट के टर्मिनल-3 आगमन पर FASTag आधारित पार्किंग भुगतान प्रणाली को बुधवार को अस्थायी रूप से निलंबित कर दिया गया। यह पाया गया कि पार्किंग ऑपरेटर स्मार्ट टैग का इस्तेमाल केवल शुल्क वसूलने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि वाहनों के प्रवेश को नियंत्रित करने के लिए भी कर रहा था। पूर्व Niti Aayog उपाध्यक्ष राजीव कुमार ने इस प्रथा को उठाया और इसे यात्रियों के लिए मनमाना और असुविधाजनक बताया। NHAI के तहत IHMCL ने संबंधित बैंक को पार्किंग शुल्क संग्रह से परे FASTag के किसी भी उपयोग को रोकने का निर्देश दिया है, और अनुपालन न करने पर कार्रवाई की चेतावनी दी है।
