The Maharashtra cabinet has approved significant amendments to the state's land disposal rules, enhancing a policy for small government plots. Initially allowing adjacent plot holders to acquire unusable government land up to 10% of their plot area, the policy has been revised. Elected representatives' demands led to an increase in this limit to 25% of the adjacent plot's total area. The policy now also includes plots where construction is currently impossible, with the government retaining the right to recover differential amounts if development rules change.

महाराष्ट्र कैबिनेट ने राज्य के भूमि निपटान नियमों में महत्वपूर्ण संशोधन को मंजूरी दी है, जिससे छोटी सरकारी ज़मीनों के लिए एक नीति को बढ़ावा मिला है। शुरुआत में आस-पास के भूखंड धारकों को अपने भूखंड क्षेत्र का 10% तक अनुपयोगी सरकारी भूमि प्राप्त करने की अनुमति देने वाली नीति को संशोधित किया गया है। निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधियों की मांगों के कारण इस सीमा को आस-पास के भूखंड के कुल क्षेत्रफल के 25% तक बढ़ा दिया गया है। नीति में अब उन भूखंडों को भी शामिल किया गया है जहाँ वर्तमान में निर्माण संभव नहीं है, जिसमें सरकार के पास विकास नियमों में बदलाव होने पर अंतर राशि वसूल करने का अधिकार सुरक्षित है।
