A minibus carrying approximately 23 passengers veered off the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Kota, Rajasthan, and fell into a 15-foot-deep drain. The accident, which occurred around 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, resulted in the deaths of eight people and injuries to fifteen others, with eight in critical condition. Authorities suspect the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Most passengers were reportedly part of extended families from Madhya Pradesh on a pilgrimage. लगभग 23 यात्रियों को ले जा रही एक मिनीबस राजस्थान के कोटा में दिल्ली-मुंबई एक्सप्रेसवे से उतरकर 15 फुट गहरे नाले में गिर गई। यह हादसा शनिवार, 17 अक्टूबर 2026 को सुबह करीब 6 बजे हुआ, जिसमें आठ लोगों की मौत हो गई और पंद्रह अन्य घायल हो गए, जिनमें से आठ की हालत गंभीर है। अधिकारियों को शक है कि ड्राइवर गाड़ी चलाते समय सो गया होगा। ज्यादातर यात्री मध्य प्रदेश से तीर्थयात्रा पर निकले विस्तारित परिवार का हिस्सा बताए जा रहे हैं। नाले में कीचड़ और पानी के कारण बचाव कार्यों में बाधा आई।
