Kolkata police arrested two youths in the Burrabazar area with four bundles of fake currency notes, reportedly worth ₹20 lakh. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the bundles contained plain white paper cut to currency size, with real ₹500 notes only at the top and bottom of each bundle. The bundles also bore fake ICICI Bank labels. Further investigation led to the apprehension of two more individuals in Howrah, along with printing equipment, suggesting a larger counterfeit operation.

कोलकाता पुलिस ने बड़ाबाजार इलाके से दो युवकों को नकली करेंसी नोटों के चार बंडलों के साथ गिरफ्तार किया है, जिनकी कीमत कथित तौर पर 20 लाख रुपये बताई जा रही है। जांच करने पर पता चला कि बंडलों में असली 500 रुपये के नोट केवल ऊपर और नीचे लगे थे, और बाकी सादे सफेद कागज थे जिन्हें करेंसी के आकार में काटा गया था। बंडलों पर नकली आईसीआईसीआई बैंक के लेबल भी लगे थे। आगे की जांच में हावड़ा से दो और लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया और प्रिंटिंग उपकरण भी बरामद हुए, जिससे एक बड़े नकली ऑपरेशन का संकेत मिलता है।
