DW World · world
Germany's Bundeswehr recently conducted a large-scale military exercise, "Red Storm Charlie," in Hamburg to test its preparedness for NATO collective defense. The exercise simulated a deteriorating security situation on NATO's eastern flank, involving the arrival of NATO troops at Hamburg's port and their eastward movement. Approximately 1,700 participants, including 500 soldiers, took part in the three-day drill, which also included scenarios of sabotage and demonstrations. This training is part of the classified "Operations Plan Germany," designed to prepare the Bundeswehr for potential Russian aggression against NATO territory.
