Drought Avoidable in Telangana with Kaleshwaram Water Use: BRS Leader
The Hindu · india
BRS leader T. Jeevan Reddy stated that Telangana's drought conditions are man-made, stemming from the current government's failure to utilize the Kaleshwaram project. He argued that lifting Godavari water via the project's barrages and pump houses could have filled water bodies and prevented the crisis. Reddy criticized the government for not impounding reservoirs and suggested water could still be lifted from the Godavari river. He accused the Chief Minister and Irrigation Minister of neglecting the project due to political animosity towards the former Chief Minister.
