UDP in Meghalaya has been reduced to four members after the Assembly Speaker officially recognised the defection of eight legislators to the BJP. The eight MLAs who switched are Lahkmen Rymbui, Pius Marwein, Kyrmen Shylla, Mayralborn Syiem, Matthew Beyondstar Kurbah, Ollan Singh Suin, Balajied Kupar Synrem, and Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah. This significant shift in party numbers alters the political landscape within the state assembly. The move impacts the UDP's strength and potentially reshapes alliances and power dynamics in Meghalaya's government.

मेघालय में यूडीपी के सदस्य घटकर चार रह गए हैं, क्योंकि विधानसभा अध्यक्ष ने आठ विधायकों के भाजपा में शामिल होने को आधिकारिक तौर पर मान्यता दे दी है। जिन आठ विधायकों ने पाला बदला है, वे हैं लखमेन रिम्बुई, पायस मार्विन, किरमेन श्याला, मेयरालबोर्न सिएम, मैथ्यू बियॉन्डस्टार कुरबाह, ओलान सिंह सुइन, बालाजियेट कुपर सिनरेम और सिनशर कुपर रॉय लिंडोह थाबाह। पार्टी सदस्यों की संख्या में यह महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव राज्य विधानसभा के भीतर राजनीतिक परिदृश्य को बदल देता है। इस कदम से यूडीपी की ताकत प्रभावित होती है और मेघालय सरकार में संभावित रूप से गठबंधनों और शक्ति संतुलन को नया आकार मिलता है।
