Aroor-Thuravoor Elevated Highway Deadline Extended to March 2027
Times of India · automobile
The 12.75km Aroor-Thuravoor six-lane elevated highway, slated to be India's longest single-pillar flyover, will not meet its December deadline. The completion date has been pushed to March 2027, with 94% of the work now finished. A key reason for the delay was a decision to extend the structure by approximately 150 metres past the congested Thuravoor Junction to prevent traffic bottlenecks. Load testing is scheduled to begin next week, and the project will also feature Kerala's first multi-lane free-flow tolling system.
