IIT-Bombay Student's Parents Detained During Protest On Campus

Parents of Sahil Wakode, an IIT-Bombay student who died by suicide on September 18, were detained by Mumbai Police on Sunday. Ravindra and Sonali Wakode had arrived at the campus to pay homage to their son and submit a letter to the institute's registrar. At least 16 protesting students were also detained as police cleared the protest site. Student groups accused the police of using excessive force during the detentions, alleging physical assault.

आईआईटी-बॉम्बे छात्र के माता-पिता को कैंपस में विरोध के दौरान हिरासत में लिया गया

18 सितंबर को आत्महत्या करने वाले आईआईटी-बॉम्बे के छात्र साहिल वाकोडे के माता-पिता को रविवार को मुंबई पुलिस ने हिरासत में लिया। रविंद्र और सोनाली वाकोडे अपने बेटे को श्रद्धांजलि देने और संस्थान के रजिस्ट्रार को एक पत्र सौंपने के लिए कैंपस आए थे। पुलिस ने विरोध स्थल खाली कराया और कम से कम 16 प्रदर्शनकारी छात्रों को भी हिरासत में लिया। छात्र समूहों ने पुलिस पर हिरासत के दौरान अत्यधिक बल प्रयोग करने और मारपीट का आरोप लगाया है।
