India's I&B Ministry Warns TV Channels Against Promoting Anti-National Attitudes

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has issued an advisory to TV news channels, urging them to avoid promoting communal disharmony or anti-national sentiments. Channels must adhere strictly to the Programme Code under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act. The advisory emphasizes responsible reporting, fact-verification, and avoiding sensationalism or the normalization of undesirable conduct. It also highlights the need for caution with disturbing visuals and prohibits live coverage of anti-terror operations until they conclude.

सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने टीवी समाचार चैनलों को एक सलाह जारी की है, जिसमें उनसे सांप्रदायिक सद्भाव या राष्ट्र-विरोधी भावनाओं को बढ़ावा देने से बचने का आग्रह किया गया है। चैनलों को केबल टेलीविजन नेटवर्क्स (विनियमन) अधिनियम के तहत कार्यक्रम संहिता का सख्ती से पालन करना चाहिए। सलाह में जिम्मेदार रिपोर्टिंग, तथ्यों की जांच और सनसनीखेज या अवांछनीय आचरण के सामान्यीकरण से बचने पर जोर दिया गया है। इसमें परेशान करने वाले दृश्यों के साथ सावधानी बरतने की आवश्यकता पर भी प्रकाश डाला गया है और आतंकवाद-विरोधी अभियानों के समाप्त होने तक उनके सीधे प्रसारण पर रोक लगा दी गई है।
