तेलंगाना प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी (TPCC) के अध्यक्ष बी. महेश कुमार गौड़ ने आगामी जनगणना-2027 में बीसी/ओबीसी कॉलम की मांग दोहराई है। उन्होंने आश्वासन दिया कि कांग्रेस पार्टी तेलंगाना में पिछड़ा वर्ग (Backward Classes) की राजनीतिक हिस्सेदारी और प्रतिनिधित्व बढ़ाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। गौड़ ने केंद्र सरकार की आलोचना की कि वह अनुसूचित जाति (SCs) और अनुसूचित जनजाति (STs) को शामिल करते हुए भी ओबीसी (OBCs) को अपने सर्वेक्षणों से बाहर रखती है, जबकि तेलंगाना ने जाति सर्वेक्षण किया है।
