Odisha Workers Spend Less on Commuting Than National Average

Times of India · india

State workers in Odisha spend significantly less on daily commuting compared to the national average, with men spending Rs 589 and women Rs 409 monthly. The national average stands at Rs 785 per month. Travel times in Odisha are also shorter, averaging 23 minutes for rural workers and 22 minutes for urban workers. This lower expenditure may be attributed to a significant portion of employment being located in rural areas and the use of public transport and shorter distances within cities.
