Punjab Govt Agrees to Rs 2 Cr Aid, Wife's Job for Jhota Family; Protest Called

Protesters have agreed not to demonstrate outside the Punjab Chief Minister's residence after the government met key demands following the killing of anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota. The agreement includes a Rs 2 crore compensation for Jhota's family and a government job for his wife. Additionally, two members of the Parvinder Singh Jhota Insaf Morcha, Lakha Sidhana and Mohanjit Singh Sheron, will be released from jail. The government also agreed to withdraw FIRs registered against protesters.

पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री आवास के बाहर प्रदर्शन नहीं होगा। सरकार ने नशीली दवाओं के खिलाफ कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा के परिवार की मुख्य मांगें मान ली हैं। परिवार को 2 करोड़ रुपये का मुआवजा और पत्नी को सरकारी नौकरी मिलेगी। परविंदर सिंह झोटा इंसाफ मोर्चा के दो सदस्य, लखा सिधाना और मोहनजीत सिंह शेरोन, जेल से रिहा होंगे। सरकार ने प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ दर्ज FIR वापस लेने पर भी सहमति जताई है।
