Hindustan Times · india

A newly reconstructed Sion railway bridge in central Mumbai, replacing a 112-year-old colonial-era structure, is expected to open for traffic soon. The pillar-free design over railway tracks will accommodate proposed fifth and sixth railway lines. Officials anticipate the bridge will ease significant traffic congestion in Sion, Kurla, and Dharavi areas, which have experienced detours and delays over the past two years. The project, funded by railway authorities, aims to restore crucial east-west connectivity in northern Mumbai.
