Iran President Loses Trust in US Talks

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran no longer trusts negotiations with the United States, citing previous talks followed by attacks and sanctions. He expressed uncertainty about the basis for understanding with the US. Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited the US for the UN gathering, proposing a deal to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. The proposal includes lifting naval blockades, waiving sanctions, releasing frozen assets, and observing a ceasefire in exchange for Iran reopening the Strait.
