कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू को चिट्ठी लिखकर बीजेपी नेता दुष्यंत गौतम की सिक्किम राज्यपाल नियुक्ति पर पुनर्विचार करने का अनुरोध किया है। गांधी ने अंकिता भंडारी हत्या मामले का हवाला देते हुए गौतम की कथित संलिप्तता का सुझाव दिया और CBI जांच में देरी पर सवाल उठाए। उन्होंने तर्क दिया कि गौतम की नियुक्ति उन्हें पद पर रहते हुए आपराधिक कार्यवाही से बचाएगी। कांग्रेस नेता का मानना है कि यह फैसला महिलाओं की सुरक्षा को कमजोर करता है और उन्होंने राष्ट्रपति से आग्रह किया कि भंडारी के परिवार के लिए न्याय बनाए रखने हेतु सरकार को इस नियुक्ति के खिलाफ सलाह दें।
