This shift, exemplified by the appointment of former Congress leaders like Sunil Jakhar and Kewal Dhillon to key positions, has led to resignations and a feeling of neglect among long-serving party workers.

पंजाब बीजेपी में अंदरूनी कलह चल रही है। पुराने नेता पार्टी की उस रणनीति से नाराज़ हैं जिसमें नए आए नेताओं को पुराने कार्यकर्ताओं से ज़्यादा तरजीह दी जा रही है। पूर्व प्रदेश अध्यक्ष अश्विनी शर्मा और जगमोहन सिंह राजू जैसे बड़े नेता अपनी नाराजगी जता चुके हैं। सुनील जाखड़ और केवल ढिल्लों जैसे कांग्रेस से आए नेताओं को अहम पद मिलने से पुराने कार्यकर्ता खुद को उपेक्षित महसूस कर रहे हैं और इस्तीफे दे रहे हैं।
