Gold prices in Delhi dropped by ₹1,400 to ₹1,53,000 per 10 grams, driven by a strengthening Indian Rupee and global market weakness. Silver prices also saw a significant decline of ₹2,000, settling at ₹2,26,500 per kilogram. This price drop is attributed to the Rupee's gain of 96 paise against the US dollar, reaching 95.75. Analysts noted that while global cues were weak, the domestic currency's appreciation exerted further pressure on bullion rates. Physical demand for gold was mixed, with buying subdued due to higher prices.
