Thrissur to Host 'Raise the Flag of Freedom' Cultural Protest on October 30

A cultural gathering titled 'Raise the Flag of Freedom' will be held in Thrissur on October 30 to support protests against alleged voter disenfranchisement during electoral roll revisions. Organised by a secular democratic collective, the event aims to rally support for student and youth-led demonstrations in Delhi and elsewhere. Organisers accuse the Union government of undermining democratic institutions and constitutional values. चुनाव नामावली के संशोधनों के दौरान कथित मतदाता मताधिकार छीनने के विरोध में समर्थन जुटाने के लिए 30 अक्टूबर को थ्रिस्सूर में 'स्वतंत्रता का झंडा उठाओ' नामक एक सांस्कृतिक सभा आयोजित की जाएगी। एक धर्मनिरपेक्ष लोकतांत्रिक समूह द्वारा आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य दिल्ली और अन्य जगहों पर छात्र और युवा नेतृत्व वाले प्रदर्शनों के लिए समर्थन जुटाना है। आयोजकों ने केंद्र सरकार पर लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं और संवैधानिक मूल्यों को कमजोर करने का आरोप लगाया है। यह सभा कथित मानवाधिकारों के उल्लंघन का सामना कर रहे प्रदर्शनकारियों के साथ एकजुटता भी व्यक्त करेगी और लोकतंत्र तथा धर्मनिरपेक्षता को बनाए रखने के लिए एक शांतिपूर्ण आंदोलन की वकालत करेगी।
