Orissa HC: Foreigners Entitled To Right To Live With Dignity Under Article 21

The Orissa High Court has ruled that foreign nationals within India's territorial jurisdiction are entitled to the right to live with human dignity, as guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution. The court directed the Centre to facilitate the repatriation of 23 seafarers stranded on an abandoned vessel at Paradip Port. These seafarers, including Russian, Egyptian, and Kazakh nationals, have been aboard the MT Unity since May 11 due to maritime claims.

ओडिशा हाईकोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि भारत की क्षेत्रीय सीमा के भीतर विदेशी नागरिकों को संविधान के अनुच्छेद 21 के तहत मानव गरिमा के साथ जीने का अधिकार है। कोर्ट ने केंद्र को पारादीप बंदरगाह पर फंसे 23 नाविकों को वापस भेजने की सुविधा देने का निर्देश दिया। ये नाविक, जिनमें रूसी, मिस्र और कज़ाख नागरिक शामिल हैं, समुद्री दावों के कारण 11 मई से एमटी यूनिटी जहाज पर सवार हैं।
