Police Foil Gold Smuggling Bid, Arrest Gang Members at Karipur Airport

Police at Calicut International Airport, Karipur, thwarted an attempt to abduct a woman carrying 817 gm of smuggled gold, valued at over ₹1.10 crore, on Monday. Two members of the alleged robbery gang were arrested after they attempted to snatch the gold and attacked police officers. The gold was found concealed inside an emergency lamp in the woman's baggage. The arrested individuals, who have prior criminal records, and the gold were handed over to the Customs Department for further action.

सोमवार को कोझिकोड अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे, करीपुर में पुलिस ने ₹1.10 करोड़ से अधिक मूल्य के 817 ग्राम तस्करी के सोने के साथ जा रही एक महिला के अपहरण के प्रयास को विफल कर दिया। कथित डकैती गिरोह के दो सदस्यों को गिरफ्तार किया गया, जब उन्होंने सोने को छीनने और पुलिस अधिकारियों पर हमला करने की कोशिश की। सोना महिला के सामान में एक इमरजेंसी लैंप के अंदर छिपा हुआ पाया गया था। गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्तियों, जिनका आपराधिक रिकॉर्ड है, और सोने को आगे की कार्रवाई के लिए सीमा शुल्क विभाग को सौंप दिया गया।
