India, Gulf Nations Boost Trade with FTA Talks

GCC nations are advancing trade talks for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), aiming to boost their existing $178.66 billion bilateral trade. The discussions, held during the India-GCC Troika Ministerial Meeting in New York, also covered energy and fertilizer supply security amidst West Asia's ongoing crisis. Both sides welcomed the FTA negotiations, which began in February 2026. The agreement is expected to unlock new export opportunities for India in the Gulf market and diversify trade.

खाड़ी देशों (GCC) ने भारत के साथ फ्री ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट (FTA) के लिए व्यापार बातचीत तेज कर दी है। इसका मकसद मौजूदा 178.66 अरब डॉलर के द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को बढ़ाना है। न्यूयॉर्क में हुई इंडिया-GCC ट्रोइका मंत्रिस्तरीय बैठक में ऊर्जा और उर्वरक आपूर्ति सुरक्षा पर भी बात हुई। दोनों पक्ष FTA की बातचीत का स्वागत कर रहे हैं, जो फरवरी 2026 में शुरू हुई थी। इससे भारत को खाड़ी देशों में नए निर्यात अवसर मिलेंगे।
