Tata Trusts Question Mehli Mistry's Right To Raise Objections

Two Tata Trusts, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Bai Hirabai Jamestji Tata Navsari Charitable Institution, have challenged Mehli Mistry's standing to raise governance concerns. They informed the Charity Commissioner's office that Mistry's tenure as a trustee ended on October 28 last year, rendering him ineligible to question their operations. Mistry had alleged governance lapses and conflicts of interest. The trusts argue his former trusteeship cannot be used to challenge current administration. The Charity Commissioner will first decide on the trusts' objections regarding maintainability and jurisdiction before reviewing Mistry's complaints.
