USOPC CEO: Olympics to become increasingly geographically dispersed

USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland stated that geographically dispersed Olympic Games are becoming the norm due to the increasing scale and infrastructure demands of hosting. The recent Milano Cortina Games and upcoming LA28 Games exemplify this trend, with venues spread across multiple locations. Hirshland noted that the centralized model, like Utah 2034, will be a rare exception. She anticipates LA28 will be the largest Summer Games ever, with subsequent Games potentially being smaller to manage logistical complexity and costs.
