Supreme Court Orders Sir Ganga Ram Hospital To Treat Acid Attack Survivor

The Supreme Court has directed Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi to provide complete treatment to an acid attack survivor until her discharge. The court intervened after the hospital asked the victim to seek further treatment at Safdarjung Hospital. The survivor, who suffered the attack on October 6, is entitled to free medical care under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The bench ordered the hospital to keep her as an indoor patient, covering all costs for medicines and surgeries.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सर गंगा राम अस्पताल, दिल्ली को निर्देश दिया है कि वह एसिड अटैक पीड़िता को डिस्चार्ज होने तक पूरा इलाज दे। अस्पताल ने पीड़िता से सफदरजंग अस्पताल में आगे के इलाज के लिए कहा था, जिसके बाद कोर्ट ने दखल दिया। 6 अक्टूबर को हमला झेलने वाली पीड़िता, 2023 की भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता के तहत मुफ्त चिकित्सा देखभाल की हक़दार है। बेंच ने अस्पताल को उसे इनडोर मरीज के तौर पर रखने और दवाओं व सर्जरी का सारा खर्च उठाने का आदेश दिया है।
