Jordan Dairy Farms in Massachusetts is converting cow manure and food waste into energy using an anaerobic digester. Installed in 2011, the system breaks down organic materials to produce biogas, which generates electricity and heat. By 2020, this process saved the farm approximately $155,000 annually through reduced costs for heat, fertiliser, and animal bedding. The farm also sells excess electricity to nearby businesses, further enhancing its revenue streams from waste management.
