पूर्णिमा श्राद्ध मनाया जा रहा है, जिससे पितरों के लिए अनुष्ठानों का आरंभ हो गया है। यह दिन भाद्रपद पूर्णिमा के बाद और मुख्य पितृ पक्ष की तिथियों से पहले आता है। भक्त अपने पूर्वजों को याद करते हैं और उनकी शांति के लिए तर्पण, पिंडदान और दान जैसे कर्मकांड करते हैं। शाम को 16 दीपक जलाने की परंपरा है, जो 16 श्राद्ध तिथियों और दिवंगतजनों के प्रति सम्मान का प्रतीक हैं। ये दीपक दक्षिण दिशा की ओर रखे जाते हैं, जिसे पितरों की दिशा माना जाता है, ताकि आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हो और पारिवारिक शांति बनी रहे।
