Indian-Origin Woman, Friend Killed By NYC Subway

An Indian-origin woman and her Nepali-American friend, both 24, were tragically killed by a subway train in New York. The incident occurred at a lower Manhattan station after one of them apparently fell onto the tracks and the other jumped to help. Malaika Chitre and Navam Kaul, former Rutgers University students, died at the scene. The accident involved a downtown number 4 train. Around 100 passengers were evacuated.

न्यूयॉर्क में एक दुखद घटना हुई। भारतीय मूल की महिला मालायका चित्र और उनकी नेपाली-अमेरिकी दोस्त नवम कौल, दोनों 24 साल की थीं, सबवे ट्रेन की चपेट में आकर मर गईं। यह लोअर मैनहट्टन स्टेशन पर हुआ। बताया जा रहा है कि एक लड़की ट्रैक पर गिर गई और दूसरी उसे बचाने के लिए कूद गई। दोनों की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई।
