The Tamil Nadu government has set an interim monthly payout of ₹10,000 for retired government employees with 10 to 18 years of service under the TAPS regime. Those with 18 years or more service will receive 30% of their last-drawn basic pay or ₹10,000, whichever is higher. This decision aims to prevent hardship caused by potential recovery of excess interim payments for retirees with shorter service periods.
