Kerala to Launch District Disaster Plans in Three

Keralam will unveil a comprehensive, district-specific disaster management plan within three months, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced on Monday. This initiative follows a recent flash flood at T.K. Colony near Amarambalam that claimed five lives and left one woman missing. The plan aims to strengthen the state's disaster management system, incorporating specific risks and priorities for each district. Support from NGOs, the Central government, and research institutions will be sought.

केरल तीन महीने में ज़िला-विशेष आपदा प्रबंधन योजना लाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री वी.डी. सतीसन ने सोमवार को यह घोषणा की। हाल ही में अमरंबलम के पास टी.के. कॉलोनी में आई अचानक बाढ़ में पाँच लोगों की जान गई थी और एक महिला लापता है। इस नई योजना से राज्य का आपदा प्रबंधन तंत्र मज़बूत होगा, जिसमें हर ज़िले के ख़तरे और ज़रूरतों का ध्यान रखा जाएगा। NGOs, केंद्र सरकार और शोध संस्थानों से भी मदद ली जाएगी।
