DU Panel Flags Recruitment Rule Violations At St Stephen's College
TOI Education · education
A Delhi University committee has flagged alleged deviations from university-approved shortlisting criteria in the recruitment of assistant professors at St Stephen's College. The five-member panel found that the college departed from norms approved by DU's statutory bodies, potentially allowing ineligible candidates to qualify for interviews. St Stephen's College, however, maintained that the university's criteria were advisory and cited its minority institution status for selection autonomy. The committee also raised concerns over the timing of selection criteria disclosure and noted discrepancies in the Philosophy department's shortlisting process.
