North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reportedly arrived in the Chinese border city of Dandong. His arrival was via a newly opened bridge linking North Korea and China, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency. The four-lane New Yalu River Bridge, completed in 2014, officially opened about a week ago after remaining unused for 12 years. This development marks a step towards strengthening economic ties between the two neighbouring countries, with China being North Korea's largest trading partner and key supporter.
