The flight, scheduled to depart at 9:10 am, finally took off at 3:29 pm. Passengers complained about a lack of advance notification and clear updates regarding the delay. They also alleged that calls to the airline's duty and station managers went unanswered. This incident marks the second such disruption by the airline in two days, with senior airport officials urging the carrier to take responsibility for communication failures.

SpiceJet की फ्लाइट SG648 के यात्री गुरुवार को कोलकाता एयरपोर्ट पर धरने पर बैठ गए। उनकी बेंगलुरु जाने वाली फ्लाइट 6 घंटे से ज़्यादा लेट थी। फ्लाइट सुबह 9:10 बजे उड़ान भरने वाली थी, लेकिन दोपहर 3:29 बजे रवाना हुई। यात्रियों ने कहा कि उन्हें देरी के बारे में पहले कोई सूचना नहीं दी गई और न ही सही जानकारी मिली। उन्होंने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि एयरलाइन के ड्यूटी और स्टेशन मैनेजरों के फोन भी नहीं उठाए गए। यह लगातार दूसरे दिन हुआ है जब एयरलाइन की वजह से ऐसी दिक्कत हुई है। एयरपोर्ट के सीनियर अधिकारियों ने एयरलाइन से कहा है कि वे कम्युनिकेशन में हुई गड़बड़ी की ज़िम्मेदारी लें।
