GST Council to Unveil Major Process Reforms: Faster Registration, Easier Refunds

The GST Council is poised to introduce significant reforms aimed at simplifying business processes, including faster registration and easier refunds. These proposals, developed over multiple working group and national coordination committee meetings, will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The reforms focus on reducing discretion through technology, minimizing litigation, and lowering transaction costs for traders. Key changes include a system for deemed acknowledgement of applications within 10 days and a push for decriminalisation of offences.

जीएसटी काउंसिल बिज़नेस की प्रक्रियाओं को आसान बनाने के लिए बड़े सुधार लाने वाली है, जिसमें तेज़ रजिस्ट्रेशन और आसान रिफंड शामिल हैं। ये प्रस्ताव, कई वर्किंग ग्रुप और राष्ट्रीय समन्वय समिति की बैठकों में तैयार हुए हैं, इन्हें यूनियन फाइनेंस मिनिस्टर निर्मला सीतारमण पेश करेंगी। सुधारों का मक़सद टेक्नोलॉजी से मनमानी कम करना, मुकदमेबाज़ी घटाना और व्यापारियों के लिए लेन-देन का खर्च कम करना है। मुख्य बदलावों में 10 दिन के अंदर आवेदनों की स्वीकृत मानी जाने वाली प्रणाली और अपराधों के गैर-आपराधिकरण पर ज़ोर देना शामिल है।
