Residents of Adyar, Chennai, will have to wait until 2027 for the Greater Chennai Corporation's first food court, located on Indira Nagar 3rd Avenue. The project, which began over a year ago, is only 40 percent complete, significantly behind its original Pongal 2026 opening target. Officials cited the 2026 elections and subsequent government changes as reasons for the slow progress. The facility, costing ₹4.24 crore, will feature 30 shops and parking for 20 two-wheelers and 16 cars.
