Ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz reached a minimum on Tuesday, with only two vessels entering and two exiting, according to analytics firm Kpler. Neither of these ships were supertankers carrying oil or liquefied natural gas. Typically, around 125 large commercial vessels pass through daily, transporting approximately 20% of global oil and LNG shipments. This reduction follows renewed US strikes against Iran in July, after accusations of violating agreements related to the strait.
