Tamil Nadu Govt to Sell Fine Rice at ₹30/kg Through Cooperative Stores

The Tamil Nadu government will procure 25,000 tonnes of fine variety rice in the first phase to sell at ₹30 per kg through cooperative and Amutham stores. Up to 5kg will be sold to each member of the public starting this weekend. This initiative aims to address criticism over rising essential commodity prices. The government will also sell 500 tonnes of toor dal for ₹130 per kg and has taken steps to sell other essential items at controlled prices. District-level teams will be formed to prevent hoarding and black marketing.

तमिलनाडु सरकार पहले चरण में 25,000 टन फाइन वैरायटी चावल खरीदेगी ताकि इसे सहकारी और अमूथम स्टोर्स के ज़रिए ₹30 प्रति किलो में बेचा जा सके। इस सप्ताहांत से हर व्यक्ति को 5 किलो तक बेचा जाएगा। इस पहल का मकसद ज़रूरी सामानों की बढ़ती कीमतों पर आई आलोचना को दूर करना है। सरकार ₹130 प्रति किलो के हिसाब से 500 टन अरहर दाल भी बेचेगी और ज़रूरी सामानों को नियंत्रित कीमतों पर बेचने के कदम उठाए हैं। जमाखोरी और कालाबाजारी रोकने के लिए ज़िला-स्तरीय टीमें बनाई जाएंगी।
