Jaipur Municipal Corporation faces a challenge accommodating small vendors during the Diwali season, as traders in the Walled City demand encroachment-free verandahs and footpaths. Mayor Sunil Kothari has appealed to traders to keep shop fronts clear and is exploring options for designated vending zones. The corporation is considering allowing vendors in parking spaces and restricting four-wheelers in main markets for three days. Additionally, a ward-wise cleanliness drive is underway, with efforts to mitigate the impact of staff redeployment on other areas due to sanitation worker shortages.
