Flash Floods Inundate AP-Odisha Border Villages, Disrupting NH-16 Traffic

Flash floods have inundated villages along the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border, including Ichchapuram and surrounding areas, due to a surge of water in the Bahuda river and seasonal streams. The flooding was caused by the release of approximately 86,000 cusecs of water from Odisha's Baghalati Dam. Traffic on National Highway-16 was disrupted, and residents faced power outages and lack of internet connectivity. The Srikakulam district administration has deployed NDRF teams and is distributing food packets, with water levels reportedly receding.
