Egypt's parliament has granted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approval to take all necessary measures to defend Saudi Arabia. This decision could directly involve Egypt in the ongoing conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The parliament's vote, with over two-thirds in favour, followed a request from President Sisi for military support for the Gulf Arab ally. Egypt's support will be limited to defending Saudi territory and borders, not attacking Yemen. This comes as Houthi rebels claimed missile attacks on Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport and military sites.
